Safety and well-being is an absolute priority for the children in our
care. All homes must comply with health and safety standards.
There will be costs associated with starting up a family day care service.
At a minimum you will need insurance; you may also need first aid equipment
and training, and home safety devices. Depending on the age of your home, there
may be other costs such as fencing, glazing and other modifications to make your house safe for childcare.
As of 1 July 2006, Australian Government Family Day Care start up payments of up to $1,500 each will be available to new carers in family day care to reduce the initial cost of setting up their business (conditions apply). |
